Stefano Accorsi, the celebrated Italian actor, is currently navigating a period of both professional success and personal reflection. Starring in Gabriele Muccino’s latest film, Le cose non dette, alongside Miriam Leone and Claudio Santamaria, Accorsi is also captivating audiences on stage in Nessuno – Le avventure di Ulisse, a theatrical adaptation of Homer’s epic.

In a recent interview with Corriere della Sera, Accorsi discussed a scene in the Sky series Call My Agent where he portrays himself attempting to juggle roles in two films simultaneously, pushing logistical boundaries to the breaking point. The scene, according to Accorsi, reflects a certain truth about his own ambition – a difficulty in saying “no” to projects that excite him. He admitted to the newspaper that, at times, he’s felt a sense of invincibility, believing himself to be the key ingredient in a film’s success, only to experience a subsequent crash.

Accorsi’s career trajectory has been marked by rapid ascent. He rose to prominence in 2001 with a string of critically and commercially successful films, including Nanni Moretti’s The Son’s Room, The Last Kiss, Ferzan Özpetek’s The Ignorant Fairies, and Marco Ponti’s Santa Maradona. This period of intense success, he confessed, led to a fear of making the wrong choices and disappointing audiences.

The actor also recounted a challenging period he experienced while living in Paris with his former partner, Laetitia Casta, and their children, Orlando and Athena. He described feeling a profound sense of anxiety, fearing the loss of his professional momentum. “I was crying because I was afraid of having lost the success,” he said, according to the interview.

Accorsi’s personal life is also flourishing. He is a father to four children: Orlando and Athena from his relationship with Casta, and Lorenzo and Alberto, from his marriage to Bianca Vitali, whom he wed in 2015. He described his relationship with Vitali as a “beautiful love,” praising her organizational skills and academic achievements. He emphasized the importance of providing his children with a “credible example” and encouraging their independence, noting that his eldest son, Orlando, is currently working as a waiter in Paris while attending university.

Accorsi spoke candidly about the challenges of parenthood, stating, “We are human beings, we make mistakes, we are not heroes.” He believes in allowing his children to learn through experience and contribute to their own financial well-being, even joking that he doesn’t want to have to work until he’s 200 years old.

His early career included a memorable appearance in a Maxibon ice cream commercial, where he delivered the now-iconic line, “Two is megl che one” (Two is better than one) in broken English. This commercial catapulted him to public recognition before he embarked on his serious acting career.

Beyond his current projects, Accorsi has been involved in a variety of films and television series, including 1992, a Sky series about the Tangentopoli scandal and the rise of Silvio Berlusconi. He continues to balance his work in film, television, and theatre, solidifying his position as one of Italy’s most beloved and respected actors.
