New Delhi: Igor Stemach will continue to coach the Indian football team. The Indian Football Federation has decided to extend his contract. The term of the new contract has been extended to September. The decision was taken by the All India Football Federation Technical Committee.
Stimach’s contract expired on May 15. The contract was extended as the Indian team prepares for the 2022 World Cup – 2023 Asian Cup qualifiers. Stemach will take over as the coach of the Indian team in May 2019. He coached Croatia at the 2014 Brazil World Cup.
Meanwhile, Doru Isaacs, the technical director whose contract expired, did not renew his contract. Instead, Savio Madeira was appointed interim technical director.
