The members of the SBS headquarters of the press union have been in a state of unlawful agreement since October 3rd. SBS management requested the abolition of the clause on the agreement to appoint the president and the head of the fair broadcasting (reporting, programming, and current affairs education headquarters), which were specified in the collective agreement as a labor-management agreement in 2018. Labor and management became an unauthorized agreement after the expiration of the collective agreement on October 2nd.

The SBS headquarters and the A&T branch of the media union applied for dispute settlement with the Seoul Labor Relations Commission, and on the 26th, the SBS headquarters declared a breakdown of negotiations. It is reported that the management did not bend the request to abolish the appointment agreement system even during the mediation process. On the 29th, negotiations with the A&T branch are also likely to break down.
