Suga, from ‘habitual gambling’ SES, said, “I’m working at a side dish store, Dongdaemun market, and a restaurant to pay off debts.”

Suga, a former member of the group ‘SES’, which caused a social scandal due to habitual gambling, apologized through Instagram after 4 years.

Shu posted on Instagram on the 19th, “It’s been a long time since I’ve caused controversy, and the reason I’m greeting you like this is because I thought that I couldn’t convey my sincerity to my fans and the people by hiding because I was afraid. I thought that it would not be too late, so I gathered up the courage to write this post. First of all, I bow my head and apologize to our fans and people who must have been upset because of me.”

SES broadcaster Shu (Yoo Soo-young, 37), who was indicted without detention on charges of gambling hundreds of millions of won overseas, including Macau, attends a habitual overseas gambling trial held at the Seoul Eastern District Court in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 7th. 2019.2.7

From August 2016 to May 2018, Shu was indicted without detention on charges of habitual gambling abroad, including Macau. Shu even borrowed 600 million won from two people at a hotel and casino in Seoul, and all the money he drew into gambling was 790 million won. Afterwards, Shu was sentenced to six months in prison and two years of probation at trial.

It wasn’t over. In 2020, the tenants of the building owned by Shu became a secondary damage because they were unable to get their deposit back due to Shu’s gambling debt. At that time, Shu stated, “I am doing my best to solve the problem.”

And four years later, in an apology letter, Shu said, “I fell in love with an acquaintance, and the gambling that I started at the beginning gradually grew, and I lost my mind and became engrossed in gambling. Because of this, I lost all my property, including my real estate, which I had accumulated over the past decade as a celebrity, and sat on a pile of debt to a level of shame.”

Shu, who had thought about personal bankruptcy and even extreme choices, changed his mind because he thought he could no longer cause damage to his family and creditors, and explained that he was working hard at a side dish shop, Dongdaemun Market, and acquaintance’s restaurant to pay off his debts.

He also apologized to the SES members who were in trouble because of him. Shu said, “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Bada unnie and Eugene. Even though I went through a lot of hardship because of me, he always put my worries first and helped me, and made sure that I didn’t make an extreme choice.”
