Added: Sister from Cherthala commits suicide in a convent in the Jalandhar diocese of Punjab. Mary Mercy, 31, daughter of John Ouseph, was found dead in Arthunkal Kakkiri. Church officials told relatives he had committed suicide on the 30th. However, the father, John Ouseph, complained to the Collector that his daughter had not committed suicide and was skeptical of the procedure.
Mary Mercy was in the Sadiq Our Lady of Assumption Convent in the Diocese of Jalandhar. He committed suicide at the place where he had been working for four years. According to the complaint, the daughter had called home on the night of the 29th and was talking happily about her December 2 birthday.
The complaint states that no information was provided from the convent about the circumstances of the death and that the death and the post-mortem conducted there were questionable.
