Sunawot Suboy, a survivor of the Hiroshima disaster, dies Hiroshima nuclear bomb survivor and campaigner dies at 96

TOKYO: Sunao Tsuboy, a survivor of the Hiroshima atomic bombing, has died. He was 96 years old. After the Hiroshima disaster, he devoted his life to campaigning against nuclear weapons.

During a meeting with former US President Barack Obama in 2016, he highlighted the importance of a nuclear ban. He was pronounced dead at a hospital in Hiroshima, southwest Japan. The cause of death was an irregular heartbeat following anemia. Sunawok was 20 when the U.S. bombed Hiroshima .He escaped with a head injury.

But he was unconscious for days due to severe burns.
