BARBADOS – In a surprising turn of events, India’s XI for the second ODI against the West Indies revealed the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the team’s senior players. Taking charge as captain in place of Rohit, Hardik Pandya led the team, while Axar Patel joined as a substitute. Another notable addition to the team was Malayali player Sanju Samson, who replaced Kohli.

The first ODI saw Rohit batting at number seven, while Kohli didn’t even get a chance to bat. The decision to rest the experienced duo was part of the team’s strategy to provide opportunities to young players.
