Midfielder Suryakumar Yadav is reportedly likely to be included in the Test squad against New Zealand. The player will be included in the squad considering the recent explosive form of Suryakumar Yadav. The Test series starts in Kanpur on the 25th of this month. India swept the T20 series against New Zealand. India won the last match by 73 runs at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 184 for seven in the allotted overs. In reply, the Kiwis were all out for 111 in 17.2 overs.

Opener Martin Guptill, who scored a half-century, was once again the Kiwis’ top scorer. Guptill scored 51 off 36 balls with four sixes and four fours. The Kiwis lost the wickets of Daryl Mitchell (5), Mark Chapman (0) and Glenn Phillips (0) in the powerplay. In the third over, Mitchell was dismissed and Akshar started the fall. Chapman returned in the same over. Of the latter, only Team Seifert (17) and Loki Ferguson (14) saw double figures. Akshar Patel took 3 wickets for 9 runs in 3 overs while Herschelle Patel took 2 wickets.
Though Rohit Sharma led the way with a half-century, India failed to cross the 200 mark as their teammates failed to seize the opportunity. However, Rahul Dravid, the full – time coach of Team India, and Rohit Sharma, the full – time captain, won the inaugural Twenty20 series.
