On the way to the middle rank, the Suwon Derby was completed. Suwon FC are aiming for a jump to the mid-table by winning 3 in a row and Suwon Samsung rebounding.

Suwon FC and Suwon Samsung will play the 18th round of Hanawon Q K-League 1 2022 at 7 pm on the 25th at Suwon Sports Complex. Suwon FC is in 8th place with 5 wins, 3 draws and 9 losses (18/23 points), while Suwon Samsung is in 10th place with 4 wins, 6 draws and 7 losses (18/13 points). Suwon FC, who has the same points but has more goals, has a lead in the rankings. If Suwon FC wins, they can move up to 7th place, and if Suwon Samsung wins, they can outrun Suwon FC and jump to 8th place. In the first match of the season on February 26, Suwon Samsung won 1-0.

Suwon FC stands out in the recent trend. Suwon FC defeated Gimcheon Sangmu 1-0 on the 17th and then defeated the Pohang Steelers 2-1 on the 21st. Suwon FC plans to make up for the past defeat and win the first three consecutive wins of the season. Suwon FC was sluggish with 2 draws and 4 losses in 6 matches in May, but has recently gained 2 wins in a row.

Seungwoo Lee (Suwon FC) is playing the ace. Seung-Woo Lee scored in the last 3 games in a row and ranked 6th in the scoring rankings with 7 goals in the season. In particular, Seungwoo Lee scored 6 out of 7 goals in the home game, raising expectations for his home game against Suwon Samsung. Lee Seung-woo said, “I definitely want to win the derby, and I play to win. A lot of fans will come, and I want to win three straight wins with a fun win.”

Suwon Samsung desperately needs a rebound. They are sluggish with their last 2 straight losses and 3 draws in a row (1 draw and 2 losses). In addition, the atmosphere is chaotic when a Suwon Samsung fan assaulted a Seoul fan in a Super Match against FC Seoul on the 19th. The lack of a solution is also a problem. Suwon Samsung, along with Seongnam FC, are the lowest scorer in K League 1 (13 goals). It is less than the goals scored by Mugosa (14 goals, Incheon United), the top scorer this season. The top scorer in Suwon Samsung is Saric with three goals.

Meanwhile, the competition for the championship race between Ulsan (12 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses, 39 points) and 2nd place Jeonbuk Hyundai (9 wins, 4 draws, 4 losses, 31 points) is also attracting attention. Ulsan will clash with the lowest ranked Seongnam (2 wins, 5 draws, 10 losses, 11 points) at Ulsan Munsu Soccer Stadium on the 26th. Ulsan is aiming for a second straight win. Jeonbuk, which has recently raised the mood with two wins in a row, will play a home match against Daegu FC (5 wins, 7 draws, 5 losses, 22 points) at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium on the 25th.
