Kochi: The Customs High Court has said that Swapna Suresh, accused in a gold smuggling case, had given a statement that the dollars were smuggled abroad with the help of the UAE Consulate at the instigation of the Chief Minister and the Speaker. The dream also revealed that the chief minister had close links with former UAE consul general Jamal al-Sabi and illegal money laundering. The statement from Customs said the dream statement was about the illegal and inappropriate activities of 3 ministers and the speaker.
The petition was filed by Customs Preventive Commissioner Sumit Kumar in a petition filed by the DGP of the Ernakulam Attakkulangara Jail against the observations of the Ernakulam Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate ‘s Court order to ensure adequate security for the dream.
According to Customs, the dream statement under Section 108 of the Customs Act and the confidential statement given to the Magistrate under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code contain shocking revelations against the Chief Minister, the Speaker and three other ministers.
