T20 World Cup 2021 Points Table

At the T20 world cup, 12 teams are playing. At the end of the 12 matches, the best four teams to perform best are picked based on the point table. The teams then qualify to play the semi-finals, which will take place on 11th and 12 November according to T20 2021 World cup. The T20 World cup points table is created by awarding each team 2 points to win at the group stages. If by chance, there are draws, the winner is then decided through super over.

The T20 World Cup 2021 Groups

The T20 World cup 2021 points table is grouped into two, Group 1 and Group 2. The tables will show the run rate after each match, the losses, and each team’s wins. As scheduled, all the teams at the T20 tournament will play five games within each group. After the matches, the top 4 teams on the table then move to the next stage, the knockout stage. The Knock-out stage is also known as the semi-finals and finals stage.

Group 1 includes the following teams; Australia, West Indies, England, South Africa, the winner of group A and the runners-up of Group B. on the other hand, Group 2 include the following teams; New Zealand, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, the winner of Group B and the runners-up of Group A.

How the T20 World Cup Points Table 2021 Work

The T20 points table 2021 shows the current T20 team standings and the updated team rankings for the 12 teams in both groups. The two teams to record the most number of wins from Group 1 and Group 2 become qualified for the semi-finals.

Rules of Earning Points in the T20 Points table 2021

  • If a team wins, it gets 2 points
  • When the match is tied, abandoned, or ends abruptly due to circumstances that can’t be avoided, the team gets 1 point.
  • When the team losses, it gets 0 point

T20 World Cup 2021 marks the seventh edition of the T20 series, usually held once every two years. The international teams will be fighting against each other to emerge the best and take the trophy home. The series will be held in Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This year there is an exception as there will be 16 teams instead of 12. Each team will have the chance to play against each other in a single group phase. As usual, the top 4 teams will be qualified to play the semi-finals.

T20 World Cup Schedule

The T20 World Cup 2021 schedule is arranged in a way that it divides the matches into two parts, that is, Group A and Group B will play against each other in order to get the two final teams. The schedule is in such a way that each team will play against each other at least once in the Groups.
