Its mechanism of action is to excrete waste products through urine, feces, and sweat, to remove swelling in the body and abdomen, and to facilitate fat elements by increasing metabolism and basal metabolic rate. It is effective for the symptoms that accompany high blood pressure (palpitations, stiff shoulders, flushing), obesity, swelling, and constipation, which are symptoms of patients with a lot of subcutaneous fat in their stomach.
The main medicinal ingredients of Bangpungtongseongsan are 18 kinds of herbal medicines including Angelica, Peony, and Cheongung. Among them, rhubarb, mulberry, and gypsum facilitate bowel movements, helping to relieve constipation and waste products, and gypsum and baekchul are effective in relieving body swelling.
An official from Taegeuk Pharmaceutical said, “Valen tablet can be especially useful for those who have a lot of subcutaneous fat in the abdomen and are constipated. It’s better to do that,” he said.
