Taliban leader Mullah Baradar to rule Afghanistan; Announcement coming soon | Taliban | Mullah Baradar

Kabul: Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, one of the founders of the Taliban, will be the new ruler of Afghanistan. The official announcement will be made soon. A Taliban spokesman was quoted as saying by international media.

Baradar is currently the Taliban’s head of political affairs. Baradar is in Doha for talks with representatives of various countries on behalf of the Taliban.

Baradar was a close confidante of Taliban founder Mullah Omar. Baradar is married to Mulla Omar’s sister. Baradar is a well-known Taliban strategist and commander.

Mullah Omar’s son, Mohammad Yaqub, and Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekhai will also hold key positions in the new government. Reuters reports that senior leaders have arrived in Kabul and that final preparations are underway for the announcement of a new government.

The Taliban took control of Kabul on August 15. Only the Panchsheer Valley in the country is still fighting the Taliban. There are reports of large-scale clashes and many deaths.
