The approval rating of Yoon Seok-yeol, the presidential candidate for People’s Strength, has stopped falling and is showing signs of rebounding. In particular, it has recovered high support among the youth in their 2030s and those in their 60s or older, and it is analyzed that the promise of the abolition of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family was correct.

As a result of an opinion poll conducted on the 8th by Newspim commissioned by Korea Information Research, Candidate Seok-Yeol Yoon recorded 40.3% approval. It was 5.6 percentage points ahead of Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung, who stayed at 34.7%. Ahn Cheol-soo, the presidential candidate of the People’s Party, won 13%.

Looking at the age group, Candidate Yoon received a result far behind Lee in the 40s and 50s, but received high support from the youth in their 2030s and the elderly in their 60s. In particular, in the previous survey, Candidate Yoon had a lower approval rating among the 2030 youth than Candidate Lee, but this was reversed in this survey. For those in their 18s and 20s, Candidate Yoon was 38.2%, leading Lee, who stayed at 21.4%, by 16.8%p, and showed a 16.1%p advantage even in their 30s. Among the elderly, the approval rate was 55.2%, showing an overwhelming dominance. Experts pointed to the fact that candidate Yoon’s support for the recovery of his approval rating gained the support of so-called ‘Lee Dae-nam (male in his 20s)’ through his pledge to abolish the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. In addition, the dramatic closing of the conflict with party leader Lee Jun-seok is also analyzed as a major factor.

In other polls published on the same day, in the multilateral confrontation, Yun slightly outpaced Lee or showed similar approval ratings. In some recent opinion polls, candidate Yoon’s side, who received the results that lagged Lee by more than 10 percentage points, was displeased. In a radio program that day, CEO Lee Jun-seok evaluated the results of the poll, saying, “There was a significant rebound,” and said, “The incidents that occurred on the 6th were fully reflected in the survey. predicted.
