The installation of oil and gas heating systems is to be banned as early as next year – if Economics Minister Robert Habeck has his way. In a draft law, he is planning a radical step towards the energy transition, which would mean enormous costs, especially for property owners.
In order to achieve the German climate target, however, socially acceptable incentives and other solutions are needed, says t-online editor Rahel Zahlmann.
