The Beijing Omicron variant strain had no new cases yesterday and the epidemic was basically under control

On January 24, the 274th press conference on the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in Beijing was held. A reporter from Beijing Youth Daily learned from the meeting that Pang Xinghuo, deputy director of the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention, reported that since January 15, a total of 52 local cases of new coronary pneumonia have been reported in the city, of which the cumulative reported cases of the outbreak associated with the Omicron variant strain 6 cases, all of which were confirmed cases, all of which were mild; a total of 46 reported cases associated with the delta variant strain, 35 confirmed cases (26 mild cases, 9 common cases), and 11 asymptomatic infections. Up to now, the laboratory of the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention has completed the whole genome sequencing of 28 infected persons, and the results show that they all belong to the delta variant (AY.30 evolutionary branch), which is the same transmission chain. Whole genome sequencing of the frozen goods and environmental positive specimens in the epidemic-related cold storage was carried out, and the analysis results were completely consistent with the virus sequences of some early infected persons in this round of epidemic.

At present, the epidemic situation associated with the Omicron variant is generally stable, with no new cases yesterday, and the epidemic is basically under control.
