With the People’s Power and the Democratic Party of Korea having difficulties in the composition of the House by adhering to the policy of defending the National Assembly’s Legislative and Judiciary Committee, Kwon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People’s Power, proposed that the Democratic Party mutually withdraw the accusations and accusations made during the last election as a condition of negotiations. Controversy arose over the claim.
The Democratic Party immediately protested, saying it was “really angry” and “spraying cold water in the negotiating situation.”
Representative Kwon attended the inaugural seminar of ‘Innovation 24 New Future’ (Saemirae), a study group within the party held at the National Assembly on the morning of the 22nd and said, “You just need to give the Judiciary Committee and divide the remaining 11 to 7, but the conditions that are not related to the composition of the circle are continued. “The (Democratic Party) said that we should mutually withdraw the accusations and accusations during the election process, but all we did was (complaints and accusations) against Lee Jae-myung.”
Floor Leader Kwon continued, asserting that the negotiation process with the Democratic Party was “strategic (the negotiation proposal) in order to ‘save Lee Jae-myung’.”
In response, Democratic Party floor leader Park Hong-geun said after a meeting of the party’s emergency response committee held at the National Assembly in the morning of the same day, “I read the article, and I am shocked that he made cold water in the pre-negotiation situation with an absurd remark.” I will not have a meeting today,” he asserted.
To the people’s strength, Park asked, “Is there even a grain of sincerity for the normalization of the National Assembly?” and added, “I checked with the senior vice-president, and he said that there was no ‘Lee’ character of Lee Jae-myung.”
Afterwards, Jin Seong-joon, senior vice floor leader of the Democratic Party, also said, “I never even mentioned the name of Lee Jae-myung. It was a doctor’s opinion about how it was,” he claimed.
Chief Jin continued, “I am really angry,” and said, “It was not only Lee Jae-myung that the people brought (sued), but the spokesperson’s team faced countless charges.”
On the 21st, the senior deputy representatives of the ruling and opposition parties held a third meeting to negotiate the composition of the circle, but failed to reach a conclusion. During the meeting, it is known that Chief Jin requested the power of the people as a condition of negotiation, including participation in the Special Committee on Judicial Reform of the National Assembly, and withdrawal of the request for a dispute resolution trial at the Constitutional Court in relation to the complete deprivation of the prosecution’s investigative powers.
However, according to the assertion of floor leader Kwon on the 22nd, the Democratic Party also proposed to drop the political accusations and accusations of both parties.
After attending the workshop for the Incheon City Party’s election this morning, floor leader Kwon responded to the Democratic Party’s response, saying, “Is there anything to apologize for? I just responded, but I can’t do it if I take it with me.”
Meanwhile, the ruling and opposition party leaders were scheduled to meet at the National Assembly to negotiate the composition of the won at 4 pm on the same day, but the Democratic Party strongly objected to Kwon’s remarks, making the schedule for future meetings unclear.
