In times of crisis, citizens reach for new loans more and more often, according to official data for the third quarter of 2022.

Thus, the total amount of loans given to the population amounted to three billion, 425 million 500 thousand convertible marks.

When this is divided by the estimate of the number of inhabitants in the RS of 1,128,309, the credit debt per inhabitant is slightly more than three thousand marks.

This is 174 marks higher debt per inhabitant compared to 2021 and 400 marks higher debt compared to 2020.

Even higher amounts of indebtedness per inhabitant are obtained when loans from banks from the Federation that have their representative offices in the RS are included.

Everyday costs are increasing, so a loan is often the only option for citizens, economists say, writes BN.

Credit debt that an individual can properly repay is not at all controversial, say economists. However, as they state, there are numerous situations where the indebtedness is greater than the real possibility of returning it, so citizens fall into debt slavery.
