The fight will rage; Here is India and Pakistan face to face

India and Pakistan are set to lock horns even before the ICC T20 World Cup. The biggest rivals in world cricket will face each other in the upcoming Asia Cup.

The T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan is scheduled to be held in Australia on October 23.
But the date for the match in the Asia Cup has not been fixed.

But reports indicate that the India-Pakistan match, which the cricket world is eagerly waiting for, will take place on August 28.

From August 27 to September 11, the Asia Cup will see Asian cricket powerhouses battle it out. This year’s tournament also has the distinction of having the Asia Cup switch to the T20 format after six years as the curtain raiser for the T20 World Cup.

The match is being played in Sri Lanka despite the internal problems. Teams including India have also agreed to play in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka’s situation is the same as in the 1996 World Cup. If it was the threat of Tamil Tigers then, the only difference today is civil strife.

The fact that India and Pakistan, who played in the same team to save Lanka and cricket that day, are playing against each other again on the same Lankan soil also gives excitement to the fans.

It is clear from Australia’s tour of Sri Lanka that Sri Lankan cricket fans will never give up on cricket and the spirit of the beautiful game, even as the civil strife rages on and the country turns upside down.

Sri Lankan cricket fans sent back the kangaroos who toured their home country in a manner that surprised even them.

Colombo’s Premadasa Stadium, surrounded by Sri Lanka’s deep blue sea, was yellow. The Sinhalese fans showed their gratitude to cricket and Aussies by holding up the banner ‘Thank you Australia’.

It is the same spirit of cricket that the world is about to witness the greatest cricket rivalry.

India will be able to overcome the defeat faced in last year’s World Cup. The match is sure to be on fire when Pakistan and India come out to overcome the impact of that defeat after correcting the blame of not being able to beat India in the World Cup.
