The javelin gold edition of Mahindra’s new SUV XUV700 has been handed over to Olympian Sumit Antil. Sumit won gold in the men’s javelin throw F64 category at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. The company shared the information on Twitter. ‘It is an exciting experience to present the first XUV700 Javelin Gold Edition to Sumita Antil, who became the pride of the country at the Tokyo Paralympics. Once again, thank you for winning gold for India, ”Mahindra said in a note shared on its official Twitter page.

Earlier, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra had announced that the XUV would be presented to the gold medalists of the Tokyo Olympics 2020. For this, a special vehicle called Javelin Edition has been launched. Subsequent Gold Editions will be handed over to Neeraj Chopra and Avani Lakhera. Special color and badging are included in the vehicle. Mahindra has also come up with a golden theme for the car. The only changes to the vehicle are the skin. All other features are similar to the standard models.

The company had earlier said that it had already received 65,000 bookings since the launch of the XUV 700. Normal customer deliveries have also started. Mahindra aims to launch at least 14,000 XUV 700s by January 14, 2022. The ex-showroom price of the XUV ranges from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 22.89 lakh.
