A Jamaican cleric and 41 of his followers have been arrested for killing two people in a “human sacrifice.” The self-proclaimed prophet Kevin O’Smith was arrested. They were arrested for the murder of 39 – year – old office worker Thaneka Gardner and another unidentified man. The Mirror reports that the incident took place last week.
Smith had told his office members a week ago that there was going to be a flood and therefore needed to buy some essentials. According to her friends, she bought the goods herself. Smith had told everyone to come to church on the day of the murder. He shared the news of the massacre on social media.
He called on his followers to go to church in white. He also suggested that everyone’s mobile phones be wrapped in foil and kept at home. The parishioners were told that Noah’s ark was being prepared for survival. That is why he asked himself to buy the necessary items.
Church members arrived at the church just as Smith had called. Smith’s message on Facebook was, ‘The ark will leave now, and you will soon be dressed in white.’ But the ceremony was opposed by a woman who came to the church. The police were informed. Police arrived on the scene and reportedly avoided a major bloodbath. When police arrived, they found naked men and animals. Many were waiting for their turn to be stabbed. There were 14 children in the group.
