‘STEAM-GUN’, a gun accessory for FPS games used in conjunction with Valve’s ‘Steam Deck’, has appeared.
The Steam Gun was developed by KellyJohn Studio, a motion sensing specialist in Hong Kong. It’s a rifle-like controller, and its purpose is to let you enjoy the feeling of shooting a real gun while playing FPS games.
If you attach the steam deck to the stand in the middle of the steam gun, you can play the game while looking at the screen. It connects to the steam deck via Bluetooth, and by using the gyro sensor built into the steam deck, you can move the point of view of the character in the game or aim the gun in your direction’ n move the steam gun, so you can increase the sense of immersion in FPS games. And both handles have analog sticks and buttons for other operations.

On the other hand, although it looks like an interesting product, the steam gun has some problems. First of all, since it’s not an officially Valve-certified peripheral, compatibility in all games isn’t guaranteed, and it’s hard to trust whether fine point change or gun aiming is possible with the gyro sensor only.
In addition, the weight of the steam deck itself is 669g, so it is a bit difficult to play games while holding it with two hands, but it becomes difficult to enjoy games for a long time if a large accessory such as a steam gun is used with it each other
