‘The future of Korean swimming’ Hwang Seon-woo wins gold medal in 200m freestyle at FINA World Cup


Hwang Seon-woo, the ‘future of Korean swimming’, won the gold medal in the 200m freestyle at the 3rd International Swimming Federation (FINA) 2021 Management World Cup.
Hwang Seon-woo took first place in the 200m freestyle at the 3rd FINA Management World Cup 2021 held at the Hamad Aquatic Center in Doha, Qatar on the 24th (Korean time) with a time of 1:41.17.
Hwang Seon-woo has been running second after Matthew Seitz of South Africa, and played a reverse pole in the last 50m section. He won his first gold medal in the World Cup with a last minute spurt.

Hwang Seon-woo won the bronze medal in the 100m individual medley event on the 22nd and the bronze medal in the 100m freestyle on the 23rd.
Hwang Seon-woo said through his management company All That Sports, “I am happy to get a satisfactory result of winning a gold medal in the main event.”
He also shared his thoughts on the race, saying, “I was thinking of going up to 150m with Matthew and seeing a match in the last 50m.”
Meanwhile, Hwang Seon-woo is scheduled to return to Korea through Incheon International Airport on the 24th with the swimming team.
