The Government Gazette announced a new minimum wage increase, which will come into effect on 1 October 2022.

On 19 September 2022, the Government Gazette website published the Wage Committee’s Announcement on the Minimum Wage Rate (No. 11), which means:

With the Salary Committee, there is a meeting to study and consider the facts about the salary rate that employees receive. In addition to other facts as required by law on August 26, 2022 and a decision approved the minimum wage rate to apply to all employers and employees.

By virtue of Section 79(3) and Section 88 of the Labor Protection Act BE 2541 as amended by the Labor Protection Act (No. 3) BE 2551, the Wages Committee Therefore, the announcement was made as follows:

Article 1 The Wage Committee’s Notice regarding the Minimum Wage Rate (No. 10) dated 6 December 2019 will be repealed.

Clause 2 The minimum wage rate shall be three hundred fifty four baht per day. in the provinces of Chonburi, Phuket and Rayong

Clause 3 The minimum wage rate shall be three hundred and fifty three baht per day. in Bangkok Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon

Clause 4 The minimum wage rate shall be three hundred and forty five baht per day. in Chachoengsao Province

Clause 5 The minimum wage rate is three hundred and forty three baht per day. in the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province area

Clause 6 The minimum wage rate is three hundred and forty baht per day. in the provinces of Krabi, Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai, Trat, Nakhon Ratchasima, Prachin Buri, Phang Nga, Lop Buri, Songkhla, Saraburi, Suphan Buri, Surat Thani, Nong Khai and Ubon Ratchathani.

Clause 7 The minimum wage rate is three hundred thirty eight baht per day. in the provinces of Kalasin, Chanthaburi, Nakhon Nayok, Mukdahan, Sakon Nakhon and Samut Songkhram

Clause 8 The minimum wage rate is three hundred thirty five baht per day. in Kanchanaburi, Chainat, Nakhon Phanom, Nakhon Sawan, Bueng Kan, Buriram, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phayao, Phatthalung, Phetchaburi, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Yasothon, Roi Et, Loei, Sa Kaeo, Surin, Ang Thong and Uttaradit.

Clause 9 The minimum wage rate shall be three hundred and thirty two baht per day. in Kamphaeng Phet, Chaiyaphum, Chumphon, Chiang Rai, Trang, Tak, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phichit, Phrae, Maha Sarakham, Mae Hong Son, Ranong, Ratchaburi, Lampang, Lamphun, Sisaket, Satun, Sing Buri, Sukhothai, Nong Bua Lamphu , Amnat Charoen and Uthai Thani.

Clause 10 The minimum wage rate is three hundred and twenty eight baht per day. in the provinces of Narathiwat, Nan, Pattani, Yala and Udon Thani

Article 11 For the purposes of Articles 2 to Article 10, the word “day” means an employee’s normal working hours. which does not exceed the following working hours Even if the employer allows the employee to work less than the normal working hours
(1) Seven hours for work that could be dangerous to the health and safety of workers in accordance with Ministerial Regulation No. 2 (BE 2541) issued under the Labor Protection Act.

(2) eight hours for work other than the work under (1)

Article 12 An employer may not pay an employee a salary in cash that is less than the minimum wage rate.

Clause 13. This Notice from the Salary Committee comes into force from October 1, 2022.
