(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Shinseon-mi = The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 31st that they have selected 71 companies and institutions for support for the ‘2022 Smart Manufacturing Innovation Technology Development Project’.
The smart manufacturing innovation technology development project is a national R&D project that supports the development of data, network, and artificial intelligence-related technologies to promote the advancement of smart factories.
Looking at the selected companies and institutions by field, there are 33 fields in ‘Advanced Manufacturing’ that implements the future smart factory model and 38 fields in ‘Flexible Manufacturing’, which flexibly organizes manufacturing resources within factories for customized product production.
After 2023, the government plans to additionally select participating companies in the field of ‘field application’.
The government will invest a total of 316 billion won for five years in the smart manufacturing innovation technology development project.
