The government will review ‘7 day quarantine – complete removal of masks’ by the end of next month at the earliest

Restoration of Pre-Corona Korea-China Sky Road, 62 times a week to more than 200 times this month

As the number of cases of new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) stabilizes, the government has decided to downgrade the infectious disease emergency alert level from the current ‘severe’ level to the ‘warning’ level at the end of April at the earliest. After the step adjustment, it is expected that the mandatory 7-day quarantine of confirmed patients and the obligation to wear masks in public transport will be successively lifted. In a briefing on the 3rd, Lim Sook-young, head of the Central Defense Countermeasure Headquarters, said, “After the 15th Corona 19 Emergency Committee of the World Health Organization (WHO) held between the end of April and the beginning of May, a crisis assessment meeting to adjust step the COVID-19 crisis that will be sustained,” he said.

Currently, Corona 19 is the highest ‘severe’ stage among the ‘attention-alert-alert-severe’ infectious disease crisis stages. The quarantine authorities announced that they would gradually lift the remaining quarantine measures, such as inspections, quarantine obligations, treatment support, and financial support for confirmed patients, after the level of the crisis went down to ‘warning’. A detailed road map will be prepared and published at the end of this month.

Meanwhile, the air route between Korea and China will be reopened to pre-COVID-19 levels. According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the current number of flights between Korea and China, which is currently 62 per week, is expected to increase to more than 200 per week this month. First of all, during March, the Incheon-Beijing route, which currently operates 2.25 times a week (round trip basis), will be able to increase to 90 times a week.
