Kang Jung-ho’s attempt to return to the KBO, which caused a scandal due to a hit and run drunk, failed.

Last month, Kiwoom general manager Koh Hyeong-wook pushed for Kang Jung-ho’s comeback, saying, “I wanted to give him one last chance as a baseball senior.”
In this regard, the KBO, who had said they would be cautious, came to a conclusion after about a month.
It was decided not to approve Kiwoom and Kang Jung-ho’s player contracts.
The governor may not approve player contracts that may undermine the development of the league and the protection of KBO rights and interests.”
Kang Jung-ho, who was accused of driving under the influence three times, was referred to a formal trial for hit and run drunk driving in 2016 and was sentenced to 8 months in prison and 2 years of probation.
However, the KBO permitted Kang Jung-ho’s request for voluntary termination.
The voluntary termination occurred by agreement between the club and the players, and this permission and Kang Jung-ho’s playing in the KBO League are separate.

With this decision of the KBO, Kiwoom’s options seem to be reduced.
<키움 관계자> “It is a situation that requires internal discussion on our side as well. I think we will be able to tell you when the position (about the lawsuit) is settled.”
Kang Jung-ho, who withdrew from criticism when he tried to return in 2020. After two years, Kiwoom pushed for a comeback to the league again, but this time, he turned his attention to the cold.
