Two people were killed when a car they were traveling in collided with a tipper parked on the road. The young man and his cousin were killed. Three accompanying relatives were injured. The accident took place near the Manimala bridge on the Punalur-Muvattupuzha National Highway. The deceased have been identified as Sharon Saji (18), son of Saji Thomas and Reshma George (30), daughter of George Kutty.
The injured Amala Mary (25), Jobin James (29) and Melbin Thomas (39) were admitted to Kanjirapally Taluk Hospital and a private hospital.
Sunday was Sharon’s birthday. Reshma, who got engaged 2 months ago, was getting married soon. Yesterday was the birthday of the injured Amala. Job was driving the car. The father of the injured Job owns a house on a farm in Karikattur. The group was returning to Champathal after celebrating Sharon’s birthday here.
