Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan has condoled the death of Mar Joseph Pauvathil, Senior Bishop of the Malabar Syro Church and former Archbishop of Changanassery Archdiocese.
VD Satheesan said that Mar Joseph Pauvathili was the head of the church who took strict stands based on his faith. Pope Benedict described it as ‘the crown of the Church’. Mar Joseph was also at the helm of the efforts to revive the unique liturgy of the Syro-Malabar Church.
Very saddened by the death of His Excellency Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Pouvathil. VD Satheesan expressed that he shares the grief of the faith community in his condolence message.
