According to the ‘High-Pressure Gas Safety Management Act’, in principle, all high-pressure gas containers are individually inspected for the purpose of safety verification before being imported. Exceptionally, high-pressure gas containers imported into Korea with high-pressure gas are exempted from inspection under the condition that they are returned overseas within 6 months.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has revised the ‘Enforcement Decree of the High-Pressure Gas Safety Management Act’ in consideration of the realities of the industry, and allowed to extend the return period of high-pressure containers without inspection from the current 6 months to ‘up to 2 years’.
However, as the return period is extended, safety confirmation needs to be strengthened. Therefore, the condition for exemption from container inspection includes ‘inspection from a reliable foreign inspection agency’ limited to ‘the courage you received’.
In addition, the Korea Gas Safety Corporation, an institution specializing in gas safety management, is entrusted with the task of disclosing safety inspection results for specific facilities such as schools, movie theaters, and traditional markets that use liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), so that the general public can ensure the safety of gas facilities. By making it easy to check, the people’s right to know and the effectiveness of the test results were improved.
In addition, since all pipelines have been in use for a long time since 15 years have passed, the ‘Pipeline Precise Safety Diagnosis’ system, which uses specialized equipment and technology to find potential risk factors and causes, is scheduled to be implemented from the 16th of next month.
