The vortex was discovered on Stewart Island, in the southernmost part of the Netherlands.
Alasdair Burns, operator and astronomer at Twinkle Dark Sky Tours, a travel agency specializing in stars, who witnessed this, said: “It was amazing. The whirlpool moved very slowly and quietly across the night sky. “he explained.

Professor Richard Easther of the University of Auckland said: “The vortex appears to be caused by the contact with the sun of exhaust gases from SpaceX’s re-ignition process after orbiting it.”
He added that the exhaust smoke is spiraled out by the rotation of the rocket.
