The world of fashion and television cried yesterday because of Jael Strauss, excompactante of the program The next top model in the United States, at 34 years old. Beyond his professional career, his name became known two months ago, when he publicly announced that he was suffering from breast cancer in phase four. The model was announced on October 2, only two days after receiving the diagnosis. After taking some chemotherapy sessions, he decided to stop the treatment at the end of the month. And then he went into palliative care shortly afterwards.
Through social networks, Strauss wanted to explain his case as a way of raising awareness about the disease. In one of his last messages, he explained: "My cancer can not grow as fast as my love. Thank you all for your support. We are unstoppable."
In a statement after his death, the family explained: "It was a blessing to teach him, before he died, how he loved everyone. I bring so much light to so many people." The model Tyra Banks, in his Twitter account, he also dedicated some words to him: "Top Model lost a wonderful soul. We will all remember Jael and how fun it was."
