The Korean women’s volleyball team lost to the Dominican Republic in their first match at the World Championships

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Han Nam-jik = The Korean women’s volleyball team lost their first match at the World Championships.

The national team, led by coach Cesar Hernández González, played against the Dominican Republic with a set score of 0-3 (19-25 12 -25 15-25).

Korea, who dropped to 24th in the FIVB world rankings, lost 3 sets to the 8th ranked Dominican Republic in 1 hour and 8 minutes.

At the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, where Kim Yeon-kyung (Heungkuk Life Insurance) played for the national team, Korea won a dramatic comeback victory over the Dominican Republic.

The two teams’ record against each other was 9 wins and 9 losses.

On this day, Korea was defeated in blocking success (3-13) and sub-ace (4-7). It was also inferior in firepower.
