The lifespan of trucks carrying goods from other countries to Saudi Arabia has been reduced to five years

Riyadh: The Saudi cabinet has decided to reduce the age of heavy trucks coming to Saudi Arabia to five years. Vehicles older than that will no longer be allowed for international cargo. The 10-year term was shortened to five years.

The timing of the heavy trucks was announced at a cabinet meeting chaired by King Salman on Tuesday. The Public Transport Authority was tasked with enforcing the law. This law applies to all trucks carrying more than three and a half tons of goods brought into the country from outside. The period ranges from one year of construction to five years. The model of the vehicle is calculated from the beginning of January. The law will take effect six months after the decision is announced.

Riyadh: Two people were killed in a road accident on the Jeddah-Makkah Expressway in Saudi Arabia. Seven people were injured. The accident took place when vehicles collided on the expressway. The condition of one of the injured is critical.

Immediately after the accident, Red Crescent ambulance teams rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations. The seriously injured man was taken to the National Guard Hospital. The seven injured were taken to Makkah Al Noor Specialist Hospital and Makkah Al Zahir King Abdul Aziz Hospital. One person was given first aid at the scene.
