Captain Hardik Pandya produced an all-round performance as Team India defeated New Zealand by 168 runs in the T20I final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday. As a result, India won the series. After losing the first game, India came back beautifully.

Hardik scored 30 off 17 balls in Ahmedabad to guide India to 234/4. His innings included four boundaries and a huge six. The star also shone while bowling with figures of 4/16 in his four overs.

He has performed consistently in the T20I series and deserves the Player of the Series award. However, Hardik reckoned there were other outstanding performances and credited his support staff and teammates for his success.

“I don’t mind but there were some performances that were exceptional,” said the Indian captain at the presentation ceremony after the match. “Full credit goes to the support staff and the team. I am happy to receive the trophy for the team.”

India won the T20 series by shutting out New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The visitors were bowled out for 66 runs in 12.1 overs after India set a target of 235 runs on the strength of Shubman Gill’s century. India also owns a massive 168-run victory.

Captain Hardik Pandya, who took four wickets, tied the Kiwis. Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik and Shivam Mavi took two wickets each.
