New Delhi: Following the allegations that Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain is getting VIP treatment in jail, Tihar jail authorities have offered an explanation. The prison authorities said it was the person accused in the rape case and not the physiotherapist who gave the massage to the minister in prison.
Jail authorities said that Rinku, the accused in the rape case, had massaged the minister. He is the accused in the case of molesting his own daughter who is a class 10 student. The footage of the prisoner massaging the minister’s feet and head was released by the BJP. The video surfaced days after the Enforcement Directorate informed the court that Jain was getting VIP treatment in jail.
The Aam Aadmi Party explained that massage is part of the treatment. Satyender Jain could not sleep due to low oxygen. AAP had stated that acupressure massage is also done as part of the treatment along with the medication.
ED arrested Satyender on May 30. The arrest of the minister had paved the way for a new war between the AAP government of Delhi and the central government. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has claimed that this is a false case. Satyender Jain was arrested in a money laundering case involving a Kolkata-based company. His assets worth Rs 4.81 crore were seized earlier.
