May 31, 2022 – Ms. Chomparee Chompurat, Director-General of the Meteorological Department issued Notification No. 10 of the Meteorological Department, dated May 31, 2022 regarding “Strong waves in the Andaman Sea. (Effective until 2 June 2022)”
The southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf of Thailand, causing strong wind waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand. Wave height 2-3 meters in the Andaman Sea and thunderstorm areas with a wave height of more than 3 meters.
In the upper Gulf of Thailand, the wave height is about 2 meters. In the thunderstorm area, the wave height is more than 2 meters. Sailors should proceed with caution and avoid sailing in thunderstorm areas. Small boats in the Andaman Sea should remain ashore until 2 Jun 65.
Therefore, people are asked to follow the announcement from the Meteorological Department. and can follow the information at the Meteorological Department website http://www.tmd.go.th or at 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182 24 hours a day.
