The mistake we made was silence; Arjun Kapoor against the Bollywood boycott trend

Indian cinema is seeing Bollywood struggling to get people in the theaters after Covid. Along with this, with the Bollywood boycott trend, Bollywood has received a double blow.

Aamir Khan’s Lal Singh Chadha and Akshay Kumar’s Rakshabandhan, which finally released, received similar boycotts. Ever since the trailer of Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra, there have been calls for a boycott.

Arjun Kapoor has come out against the Bollywood boycott campaign. Arjun in an interview with Bollywood Hankama said that they made a big mistake by being silent.

‘The courtesy we showed was seen as weakness. I thought I would respond with action. I’m giving this all away. Tolerate quite a lot. Now people are used to it. Everyone should come forward and do something. What was written and the hashtags raised are very far from reality. Some agendas are exaggerated. It doesn’t even exist.

The industry is losing its luster. We closed our eyes and thought we’d let it go anyway. I thought that when the theaters opened, the movies would run and everything would be fine.

The last few months have been difficult for the industry. Many films failed. Is this not an intentional narrative? Some movies were not good. Arjun said that when films don’t do well, those who create narratives get more motivated.
