Although we will still have to wait until sales start, at least now we know the name.

Cupra’s electric novelty was announced last year with the UrbanRebel concept, and now we know what name the production version will bear. As revealed by the manufacturer’s camp, the new Cupra will be called Raval.

Better connoisseurs of Spain will know that the model was named after a well-known part of Barcelona.

“Raval is one of the surprising parts of Barcelona, and today we are proud that the brand’s future urban electric car will bear that name and represent that special spirit,” explained Seat and Cupra CEO Wayne Griffiths at Automobile Barcelona, where the announcement was made.

It is also known that it will be produced in a factory in Martorell, Spain, but also that the price of this model should be close to 25,000 euros. Mounted on the MEB platform and with 226 hp at the front wheels, this could be quite a fun car, especially considering the 6.9 seconds to 100 km/h on the previously shown concept. We expect, of course, weaker performances and a range of 440 km.

As is well known, the Raval will be a more emotional version of the Volkswagen ID.2, and Škoda will somehow enter the story with its own version.
