ThePonniyin Selvan is a movie that Indian movie lovers are eagerly waiting for. Mani Ratnam is directing the film based on the world famous historical novel by the legendary author Kalki. The first part of the two-part film will hit the theaters on September 30. A few days ago, the trailer of the film got a lot of attention. Now, actress Amala Paul is revealing about turning down the big star cast film.
Amala says that Mani Ratnam called her to act in ‘Ponniyin Selvani’ but she had to turn down the role due to her bad mood that day. Amala’s response was in an interview given to Times of India.
Sir Maniratnam had heard me as Ponniyin Selvan. I’m a big fan of it. So I was very excited. But it didn’t happen. I felt very sad and disappointed. Later in 2021, he called me again about that film. I was not in the mood to do that film at that time. So I had to turn down the role. But I don’t regret it’, says Amala Paul.
‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is a multi-starrer Brahmanda film. Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Sarathkumar, Rahman, Jayaram, Babu Antony, Lal, Prakash Raj, Ashwin Kakumanu, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu Parthipan, Riyaz Khan, Mohan Raman, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lakshlipala, Shobhitra Dhuiach has the movie huge cast including others.

Ponniyin Selvan-1 will be released in five languages namely Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada. Distribution rights in Kerala Mr. Gokulam is for Sri Gokulam Movies Gopalan. Cinematography by Ravi Varman. Art direction is by Thota Dharani and Wasim Khan. Editing by Sreekar Prasad, Action Choreography by Shyam Kaushal, Dance Direction by Brinda and Costume Design by Eka Lakhani. Amazon Prime has already acquired the OTT rights of the film. The streaming rights were sold for 125 crores.
