The mother hid her daughter’s body in the bathroom for five years; 60-year-old arrested

Kuwait: A 60-year-old woman has been arrested for hiding her daughter’s dead body for five years. The incident took place in Salmiya, Kuwait. Police came to know about the incident when a 21-year-old man arrived at the Salmiya police station yesterday. He told police his mother killed his sister in 2016 and hid the body in the bathroom of the family apartment.

Police arrived at the scene and searched the house and found the skeleton in an unused closed bathroom. The young man’s brother and mother stopped the police who came to check. The mother and son, who were stopped by police, were arrested after the body was found.

She said her daughter was locked up to prevent her from leaving the house and to teach her manners and did not intend to kill her. She told police she did not tell anyone about the incident for fear of her daughter dying. The investigation team, which has collected evidence from the scene, is taking statements from other members of the family.

The remains have been handed over to the forensic department for scientific examination. Those arrested were handed over to the prosecution for further action.
