The Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, proceeded to the installation of the National Organizing Committee of the 28th edition of the Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO ), this Thursday, February 2, 2023 in Ouagadougou.
This is a team of about fifty people. Their mission will be to steer the national organizing committee for this edition by contributing to the production and smooth running of the festival.
The persons installed occupy among others the functions of president and vice-president of organization, of councilor of organization, of commission, of artistic delegate, and of assistant member.
« You have been identified and retained in the National Organizing Committee because of your skills and experience. (…) I encourage you to give the best of yourselves to meet all the challenges you will have to face. You have the heavy responsibility of combining your efforts to drive the boat of FESPACO 2023 in its last line », Addressed Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo to the new team.
In addition, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo said to expect from this committee, the commitment of its members in the work to meet the many challenges so that this 28th edition of FESPACO is an edition of resilience, and up to the ambitions of Burkina Faso.
« What we expect from this national organizing committee is that it gets to work right away. (…) The mission entrusted to this committee is to make every effort to ensure that we have a 28th edition of FESPACO which is a complete success. “, he argued.
For his part, the president of the organizing committee, Fidèle Tamini, indicated that the members of the national organizing committee of the 28th edition of FESPACO were chosen on the basis of their skills and experience, as well as on the basis of strategic elements.
Also, he called that his team is committed to meeting the challenges of the ministry in charge of communication and of Burkina Faso as a whole. ” We wanted to reassure by the composition of this organizing committee, all Burkinabè, that the edition can be held in the best security conditions and in the best sanitary conditions. “, he said.
It should be noted that the 28th edition of FESPACO will be held from February 25 to March 04, 2022. 1142 films have been registered, including 84 Burkinabè films and 60 identified films.
