The next wave is from this month; Peaks in October | COVID Next Wave Peaks at October

NEW DELHI: A small number of Kovid cases are expected to increase in India from this month and peak in October, experts said. The research team led by Matukumalla Vidyasagar and Manindra Agarwal of IIT Hyderabad and Kanpur, which accurately predicted the second wave, is behind the new forecast.

It is estimated that the next wave is likely to have less than one lakh daily cases per day. If it goes too far, it may reach 1.50 lakh. However, cases are likely to increase in Kerala and Maharashtra. The assessment is that the third wave will have less impact than the second wave. The second wave reported more than 4 lakh cases in India on May 7. Later it was declining.

At the same time, this assessment underscores the need to expand vaccination as soon as possible. They also want to find hotspots, genome sequencing and discover new variants.
