As of 9 p.m. last night, there were 5,704 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Korea.

2146 more than the number of confirmed cases at the same time the day before.

The number of daily confirmed cases recorded on the 4th has already exceeded 5352.

The metropolitan area with 2,340 people in Seoul accounted for 75% of the total with 4,200 people.

The increase in the number of confirmed cases is clear.

Since 5,122 new cases were counted on Tuesday last week, the average daily number of confirmed cases in the past week has risen to 5012, exceeding 5000 for the first time.

If this trend continues, the number of new confirmed cases to be announced this morning is expected to exceed 6,000 for the first time and reach around 7,000.

Omicron mutations are also added to this, raising concerns that the nationwide epidemic may worsen.

Since the first confirmed case of Omicron in Korea was confirmed a week ago, the cumulative number of confirmed cases has risen to 36 so far.

There were 12 confirmed cases of Omicron, added only on one day yesterday, of which 3 were confirmed for the first time in Seoul.

Quarantine authorities determined that 9 of the 12 new Omicron confirmed cases were related to the Incheon church, excluding 3 who came from overseas.

However, the exact route of infection within the church is not yet known.

The quarantine authorities are not ruling out the possibility of airborne transmission.

In addition, we are tracking and managing about 1,300 people who are mechanically related to Omicron.
