Thiruvananthapuram: The opening of colleges has been postponed as heavy rains continue in the state. The decision was made to open earlier Monday. It was postponed to Wednesday. The decision was taken at a high level meeting convened by the Chief Minister.

Due to heavy rains, the Sabarimala pilgrimage will be suspended till Tuesday. Traffic has been restricted in hilly areas.

People will be relocated

It was decided at the high level meeting to intensify rescue operations in all areas where heavy rains continue. All government agencies will step in for this. During the meeting, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan suggested that immediate action be taken to evacuate people from areas prone to landslides, floods and landslides.

Every possible means will be used to rescue those trapped in the rain-hit areas, including Kottayam district. The meeting evaluated the progress of rescue operations.

The CM said those in need should contact them. The Army, Navy and Air Force have been instrumental in helping the state in times of disaster. They should all be used in unison.

Boats and boats required for rescue operations should be prepared. Local Governments should prepare a list of boats and boats available to them. These should be used promptly when needed. The. D. R. Districts should take necessary steps for utilization of F funds.

Water level monitoring of dams should be strengthened
