The incident where an elderly man was found dead at Thodupuzha Mutta Lodge has been confirmed as a murder. The murder was found to be the death of Yesudas, a native of Marthandam, Thiruvananthapuram. Muttam police arrested the neighbor Ullas in the case. Personal enmity was the reason for the murder. Yesudas was found dead in the lodge in Mutta on January 24. In the post-mortem, it was found that he had been beaten. The police came to the suspicion of murder when the autopsy report revealed that a blood clot inside the head was responsible for the death. On the 19th, there was a fight between Yesudas and Ullas in the lodge room. The accused left the place after Yesudas fell down after being hit on the head. On the 24th, the body was found when the lodge room was searched due to a foul smell. The reason for the murder was personal enmity related to the harassment of women.

A poison bottle was found near the dead body. Therefore, the police initially concluded that it was a suicide. The police suspect the role of more people behind the murder. For this, CCTV footage is examined. The accused was produced in court and remanded in custody. Yesudas had been staying at Muttat Lodge for 20 years and came to Muttat after being abandoned by his wife and children. Relatives are of the opinion that they will not receive the body. With this, the police began the cremation process.
