In the first half of this year, it was found that the prices of all eight popular dining items such as jajangmyeon, kalguksu, and gimbap rose.
The price of jajangmyeon rose 8.5% from 5,769 won in January of this year to 6,262 won in ‘Trial Price’, a price information portal of the Korea Consumer Agency.
Kalguksu rose 6.4% from 7,769 won to 8,269 won, and kimbap rose 6.3% to 2,946 won.
Also, naengmyeon from 9,808 won rose 4.7% to 12,269 won in June, and pork belly also increased by 4.7% based on 200g.
Kimchi stew alum increased by 4.4%, samgyetang by 4.0%, and bibimbap by 3.8%, respectively.
The rate of increase in food prices in June announced by the National Statistical Office was 8.0%, the highest in 29 years and 8 months since October 1992, at 8.8%.
