The rain will continue till Wednesday; Vigilance order in North Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: Central Meteorological Department warns of possible isolated showers in the state. Yellow alert has been declared in various districts. Today the alert is in Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod. The rain will continue till the 24th.

Yellow Alert Announced Districts

November 20: Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.
November 21: Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam.
November 22: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki.
November 23: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki.
When the water level in the Mullaperiyar dam reached 141 feet, another shutter was raised. The water level in the Idukki dam also rose as the rains continued. The current water level in the dam is 2399.82 feet.

The ban on Sabarimala pilgrimage has been lifted following the rising water level in the Pampa River. The action is taken under favorable weather conditions. Devotees started being trafficked from Pampa to Sannidhanam.

Extreme low pressure area between Chennai and Puducherry is presently located 60 km east-southeast of Vellore above northern Tamil Nadu. It will continue to move west-northwest and weaken over the next six hours with strong low pressure.

The low pressure formed by the Arabian Sea is currently the strongest low pressure area in the Middle East Arabian Sea. The Central Meteorological Department said that it is likely to regain strength and turn into a severe low pressure area in the next 12 hours.
