The secretary who helped Ssangbang-wool Kim Seong-tae escape abroad was sent to Korea this morning.

While the former chairman Kim Seong-tae, the core of the ‘Ssangbangwool Group corruption suspicion’ case, is transferred to trial, his assistant Mr. A is sent to Korea.

Mr. A, who was arrested after escaping abroad with former Chairman Kim, will return to Korea via Incheon International Airport around 7:30 am on the 7th. Immediately after returning to Korea, Mr. A will be transferred to the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office and will be investigated by the prosecution.

Mr A is known as the trustee of former Chairman Kim’s 40% investment in the corporation which was established as a holding company when former Chairman Kim and his partners bought Ssangbangwool in 2010.

Mr A was not caught on the 10th of last month when former chairman Kim was arrested on a golf course in Pathum Thani, Thailand. Afterwards, he was arrested by the Cambodian police while fleeing to Cambodia after taking former Chairman Kim’s property from former Chairman Kim’s residence after confirming the transfer of former Chairman Kim and others to Korea.



Previously, the 6th Criminal Division of the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Young-nam) arrested and charged former Chairman Kim on charges of violating the Act on Serious Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (theft), violating the Capital Markets Act, destroying evidence, and breach of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act on the 3rd. Yang Seon-gil, chairman of the Ssangbangul Group, was also arrested and charged with embezzlement and breach of trust.

Former Chairman Kim, who said, “I don’t know CEO Lee Jae-myung,” is known to respond to the prosecution’s investigation without exercising the right to remain silent, such as changing his words to’ r the effect of “I have spoken on the phone three times in the past, and this was related by former Vice Governor Lee Hwa-young.”
