Mumbai: Malayalam player Sanju Samson was left out of the ODI squad despite being included in the T20I series against Sri Lanka. Criticism was also raised against the omission of the player who had performed well in ODIs whenever he got an opportunity.
But new reports suggest that although the selectors wanted to include Sanju in the ODI squad, he was left out on the instructions of captain Rohit Sharma. This was reported by ‘Cricket Addict’ citing close sources.
KL The selectors decided to include Sanju in the team instead of Rahul. But the report says that captain Rohit Sharma suggested that Sanju is not needed in ODIs and that Rahul is enough, and then Sanju was dropped from the team.
